WHY VETERANS AT EASE EXISTS
Bridging the gap between vouchers and housing
Across many communities, veterans hold housing vouchers yet remain unhoused—not due to lack of assistance, but due to a shortage of safe, available housing willing to participate in voucher programs.
Veterans At Ease Property Management was founded to help bridge that gap by focusing on the housing itself—its safety, quality, and long-term viability—so that partner organizations can do their critical work supporting veterans and families.
Our role is to provide the housing infrastructure that enables veterans to find stability and dignity.

THE MAN BEHIND THE MISSION
Donald Garibay
Donald Garibay was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where his early sense of duty and resilience took shape. As a young man, he left Franklin High School to answer his country's call, serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1971 to 1974 as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class (BM2).

Serving aboard naval vessels in active combat zones, Donald experienced firsthand the intensity, camaraderie, and responsibility that came with protecting others under extreme conditions. He was fortunate to return home, though many of those he served alongside did not—a reality that profoundly shaped his empathy and lifelong sense of purpose.

After his military service, Donald devoted himself to family, raising two sons with his wife of more than 50 years. Today, he values his role as a devoted husband, proud father, steady and wise presence, and joyful grandfather to six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Donald's compassion for fellow veterans is deep and unwavering. Veterans At Ease Property Management was founded from a genuine desire to serve those who have served—by creating stability, dignity, and care through housing and community.
